Humanities Reflection
The Poet Laureate project, had a lot of products being made as a result of it. Some of those things are the Poem itself and the explanatory essay. I was really proud of the Poem that I created, it was about how Disneyland came to be. I felt so proud because I put a lot of hard work into it, and am proud with the outcome. What I remember best from this project was, the poetry reading night when we read our poems. This was a lot of fun and a nice way to show off my work that I was proud of. One lesson in particular that I did learn from this project was to use a rhyme dictionary for the rhymes, I didn't find about the rhyme dictionary until I was quite a few hours in and seemingly headed no where. It helps a lot and keeps the flow of writing going. I really feel confident with myself in the case of poetry writing. If I was ever assigned to write a poem then I would be ready and know how to write one that I am proud of.
Disneyland

Step on through the oval doorway
a black cup of Joe no sugar in my hand,
Wave Hi to Steve, visiting from Norway,
Better bring the coffee ‘fore my butt gets canned
My boss, at times can be quite temperamental,
He is the famous cartoonist Walt Disney,
Be sure not to spill his coffee, I must be gentle
Glance over at a cartoon mouse named Mickey.
Finally reach his big glass office,
He is drawing a little white duck
When he’s in his mode I must be cautious
Getting yelled at would be just my luck.
Lightly knock on his large wooden door,
He glances up and waves me in
He takes his coffee chugs it and asks for more
I nod turn and start my journey over again
When I get the coffee, and come back
He takes it, grabs a chair and puts another one near it
And tells me “Come please, take a seat Jack
I have an idea and I want you to hear it.
While watching my daughter play on a carousel
And all of the joy that she had shown
It was a lot of fun, I could tell,
I thought why not just create my own?
Later that day I thought a whole lot about it,
Why not make something that causes more glee?
Like a whole park full of fun things for kids to commit
Scratch that one for the whole family.
